hi all,

was just wondering whether you guys could spec me a new rig? - It's been a while and feel a bit over whelmed with it all!

I want to play games at a fairly good standard of detail for a couple of years, maybe upgrading to i7 within a year(As the bank just cant take the beating atm!) but want the best possible performance between now and then.

currently with an amd 3700+ with a gig of ram and a 9800 pro, I suppose I use a bit of photoshop and play a few games, but would like to get back into pc gaming - as atm my system just dies trying to open football manager, let alone run it!

Would like to stay below £600 - but can stretch to £650! :) - already have a display, keyboard and mouse but need everything else!

Thanks and hope you can help
Jon.

I literaly just found that lol, It does seem a great deal! - sounds daft but its just not the same as building your own haha, but I tried pricing the parts seperatley and its impossible to get anywhere near that figure.

seems very tempting! what would you suggest OS wise?

Vista home premium 64bit.
One sec, I'll do a spec.

If you spend a bit more you can get a decent cpu cooler.

Also I didn't include an optical drive as I'm sure that you can nab one from your old system.

The case and graphics will last until your new i7 rig.

If you want to knock some off, then go for an E5200 instead of the E7400

that looks good, is that gfx card totally necessary- could i knock the card down to a lower model, to get down below the 600 mark and still play recent games at a pretty good standard?? as oc'ing is something i'd look to do, how do those intel chips fair?

It seems as though that pre-built model tops it atm..! Seems hard to get near it.

thanks for taking time out to do that though

as oc'ing is something i'd look to do, how do those intel chips fair? very very very well, and it's pretty easy, that chip should OC well, and that board is pretty good

and you're right, that pre-built is very good.

I would go with the OC prebuilt one which was linked. Very good deal. Also, if anything goes wrong then it's under warranty - so that's peace of mind for you.

Oh and choose Vista Home Premium 64-bit
