Spec for around £700, amd/intel?

Hi,
I've got an antec 300 case, 320gb samsung F1 HDD, dvd rw drive, corsair H50 cooler.
not sure if i'm keeping the H50 but i'm keeping the rest.
Is it possible to do a good build with operating system for £700?
for gaming/web browsing/music and web design.

You can get away with a i7 build for that cash but not with the latest OS's.
If you can stretch it by 50-60 then say so.

what games and a what resolution? £700 can get you a lot, you can also get a good enough system for less if you don't need all the power

games will be like things like crysis/crysis 2/ call of duty/ supreme commander.
it's a 24inch monitor but not sure of the res as i've not had a pc for about 4 months to use on it.
