It's a shame you can't stretch a little and go for the Intel Core 2 DUO E6300 which is £126.. I think you'd find the performance far superior over the single core at only a snip at an extra £40 more..

Maybe do away with the sound card as unless you are going for the X-Fi, on board sound is fine.

You also have to think about you case, PSU and OS?

That is rather expensive for 1gb Ram, I'd go for a cheaper kit and put the saved money towards a Conroe like the Admiral suggests, that along with not getting the soundcard should just about do it.

Are you also going for 2 graphics cards in SLi? If so I'd suggest not and to aim for one good graphics card as it will perform as well or better than 2x7600gs.

The hard drive might also be an issue of contention, lots of people have taken against Maxtor recently, my Maxtors have been fine so far so I'm still happy with them but the Seagate 7200.10s are faster so they are what I'd recommend if you can afford them.

yeah the grapics cards were going in as SLI but if you can recommend a single gfx card that will be as good for the same amount of money.
You say the RAM is expensive how much should 1 gb be?

An X1800XT for £140 will be better plus there is no hassle with driver profiles or anything like that.

As for Ram, I'd probably go for some PC5300 at around £75(maybe Geil or Crucial, both are cheaper), when I posted I hadn't realised that the prices had jumped that much recently but I still think over £90 is rather expensive for 1gb.
