Friend of mine is upgrading his PC and asked myself and another one of my mates to have a look and see what he needs upgrading.

He has a 1100 w corsair PSU (bit overkill :D)
he has mechanical HDD's but wants a SSD
and a case he can re-use

we decided he needs a
new mboard
new cpu
new gfx card
new ram
new cpu heatsink (old only fits 775 socket)
and a SSD

£650 budget fairly flexible . did start at £500 but he isnt one whos shrapped for cash so we got him to up to £650 and can prob push abit if needed. just for good future proofing

below is what we got so far, any comments improvements?

Few things right of the bat what is his old PSU make and model.

And looks good but I would get a different motherboard like the ASUS or MSI here because a lot of people having been having posting issues with that motherboard.

Also a different GPU like:

For the much better warranty and RMA

Are they still having problems with that motherboard? i thought bios update had fixed the issues?

Can't remember model of the psu just it was 1100 w corsair. i'll text my mate, pc is at his atm and get exact model.

i'll throw that gfx card at him cheers bacon

Sometimes a BIOS update can stop the issue but not always. I own that motherboard and while it works fine for me I would not buy or reccomend it again as it is having obvious issues.
