Ok, so my dad will be looking for a new computer in the next few months so I thought I better start getting an idea of what this is going to be costing him.

It's main use will be for photo editing, some Photoshop, some Capture NX2, and a bit of flight simulator X.

He is good for peripherals and optical drives, and I will be donating my Corsair TX650, and he has already decided on getting 2 Samsung F3 1GB hdds.

Budget will probably be about the £800 mark to cover cpu+cooler if necessary, mobo, ram, gfx card, case, hdds, win7 and ideally an internal card reader.

I might look into some mild overclocking if he wants it, so overclocking options would be nice. Obviously he would like it to be as quiet as possible, but it's not a huge issue.

Thanks

Close to price bracket, and items can be changed occording to preferance really.

Mobo may be a bit excessive for what he wants to do, so that spec could be lowered however simple to overclock with!

If you want Intel route tho i beleive i5 is the most you will get for your money and again thats just preference. Anyone clarify this?

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-231-GI&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1481 Alternative mobo to save some pennies for a better cooler and or case.

Edit: May even be able to lower specs on some items and stretch for 5850.
