I am looking at a new future proof motherboard for ddd4 possibly looking to improve my 4k capability. With the current build I can run the new Star wars Battlefront with full settings in 3840x2160 but I cannot run project cars at full settings at this resolution just to give you an idea of what it is currently able to do.

What would you do here.

Phantom 410 case
Corsair H100i Water cooler
Gigabyte Z77-D3H MB
i5 3570K cpu
Samsung Evo 840 250gb SSD
2tb Seagate 7200rpm HDD
8gb GSkrill ram (2100Mhz)
Sapphire R9 290 vapour-x GPU
Asus 2K4K 27" monitor
Corsair RM750 PSU
Windows 10
Corsair K70 cherry red mechanical keyboard
Mad Katz Rat5 mouse

With credit I could possibly stretch to £700 without maybe £400

Getting a 980ti would be your best bet for improving your performance. But at this point I'd wait till at least GTC next month to see if Nvidia announces their next line of cards before making a decision to upgrade.

So would you leave getting a motherboard and CPU with ddr4 and just get a better gpu I was looking at moving up to a better board while I can afford to invest.

The 3570k is still a decent performer and theres not a massive improvement with ddr4 for gaming so waiting for the release of Nvidia Pascal would be wise.

Yes, I would leave them. Your budget can't accommodate a meaningful CPU upgrade as well as a GPU upgrade, and a new GPU is the single component that will net you the most performance for your money. Do not compromise on the graphics card so that you can upgrade your CPU and motherboard.

That 3570k is still plenty capable anyway. Whilst you would notice better frame rates (particularly minimum frames) in games by getting a better CPU, to get a worthwhile upgrade you'd need to be looking at a modern core i7, which would gobble up your budget quite quickly in combination with a new motherboard.

Would you consider a socket 1155 I7 CPU
