Spec Gaming Machine for £1200

Hi

I intended building a machine 7 months ago but something cropped up preventing. I'm thinking now I may have the cash.

My current PC is dying & I could poss only salvage the BluRay writer & 2TB HDD. Even the case needs replacing. I do have a 1080p monitor though.

Graphics are my highest priority.

Can somebody spec me a machine spending £1200. Would like a 980 card in it.

A GTX980 sits at an uncomfortable price point - for a few quid more you're looking at the 980ti which is a beast of a card. That said, unless you plan on a monitor upgrade a 980ti is a waste at 1080p. Really you're looking at either a GTX970 or R9 390 which will work well at 1080.

You've got a decent budget though..

You could swap out the 980ti for a 970 or R9 390 if you wanted. That would allow a bigger SSD. Or you could save by getting a decent air cooler rather than the AIO I've included.
