Hi Guys,
I am in the process of setting up a new company and I need some help to spec the machines so I can add the costs to the business plan.
It's been a while since I last put one together so I am completely out of date with the latest technology, I think my last build was based on a barebones Asus Terminator K7!
I can't decide whether to go for one of the barebones systems and spec up from there or start from scratch. In total I need 4 machines which can all be the same spec as they will all be performing similar tasks: email, browsing and a few basic applications. There are no really intensive apps or tasks so it's not like they will be doing graphic design, etc. The machines will be cabled using RJ45 rather than a wireless system so each will need a network card.
I have already sorted out the OS's (Win 7 Pro 64), Monitors, Keyboards, Mouse' and the Switch for networking the machines up.
I would prefer motherboards without onboard graphics and with space to upgrade in the future. e.g. start out with 2gb RAM but as the business grows and the demands increase on the machines have the option to up the RAM significantly. Or swap out the CPU for something more powerful. I don't need huge amounts of space as one of the machines will be hooked up to some external drives for storage so small drives will be fine.
As it's a new company budget is obviously an issue so basically as fast as possible for as little as possible.
Thanks for any suggestions!
