I know I know, yet another spec request! :p But you guys are so good at it and there is soooo much to choose from!

I have an £1100 budget, possibly able to push £1200 (with abit of crawling to the wife!)

I believe Conroe is the current way to go (last time I asked it was an Opteron) and I want the HIS 1900XT 512Mb Graphics card. Not bothered about XFIRE but may want to Overclock. Also needs to be quiet! Apart from that I will leave upto you guys!

*EDIT* Don't need monitor, mouse, keyboad, soundcard

Thanks a lot

AB

wow you guys are quick...thanks for your responses.

You have both gone for the Scythe Ninja Plus Heatpipe CPU Cooler. Will I also need the thermal paste stuff?

Will I need extra fans for additional cooling/air flow or will what you have suggested suffice?

Are these quiet options?

ninja come with 120mm fan, case comes with 2 x 120mm fans so plenty overall cooling, deduct £55 from my setup, as just noticed u dont need sound card :)
with this setup would reckon u would get 3.2 to 3.5 , very fast pc :)

also on that asus board they working on a bios 2 unlock multi (downWords), thread about it on antech, very impressive read with this board & 6300 core 2 chip :)

The cooler should come with paste applied but i'd buy some AS5 incase you want to clean the hsf later on.

The scythe ninja is very quiet, it can run fanless but if overclocking you shold use a fan. Maybe buy a Akasa amber 120mm ultra silence fan if your after quietness.

lol - nope you lost me there. If you are referring to overclocking, then I have no experience with it and will probably dabble - very slowly and carefully!

Is there much difference between the 6300 and 6600? Both have been specced to me.
