Opinions on the following please.
Budget around £1600.
Mainly used for surfing, watching dvd's MS Office etc, very little gaming.
I want someting to last me 3 to 4 years without upgrading.

Gigabyte EX58-UD4P Intel X58 (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard

Intel Core i7 920 2.66Ghz (Nehalem) (Socket LGA1366) - Retail

Corsair 6GB DDR3 XMS3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz (3x2GB) Triple Channel DDR3 (TR3X6G1333C9)
Bundle £566.92

Asus ATI Radeon HD 4850 1024MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI/HDMI (PCI-Express) - Retail (90-C1CL55-L0UAY00Z) £142.59

Be Quiet! Dark Power Pro 650W ATX2.2 Modular SLi Compliant Power Supply £107.00

Antec 900-2 Nine Hundred Two Ultimate Gaming Case - Black (No PSU) £95.99

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775) £20.69

Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 1.5TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (ST31500341AS) £114.99

Samsung SpinPoint F1 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (HD103UJ) £83.94

LG GGC-H20L Blu-Ray Reader & HD-DVD ROM Serial ATA Drive - Retail £75.89

Dell Ultrasharp 2408WFP 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor £431.24

Have I forgotten anything?
Is everything compatible?
Is it overkill in any area?
Does OC build custom machines like this to order?

Thanks.

id change the Seagate Barracuda due to driver issues

And the cooler has to be socket 13666 not 775

try the Noctua cooler or the V8

Mainly used for surfing, watching dvd's MS Office etc, very little gaming.

Doesn't an i7 based system seem a little OTT for the task?

I would have though that something like one of OcUK's Phenom II X3 720 systems plus a decent 24" screen would be more than adequate. It would also save £400+.

no offence, but depending on what u term "very little gaming", £1600 is just daft for what you want it to do.

even the vulcan linked by 95th is overkill, no need for a 1gb 4870, i'd go with the basics listed in the vulcan spec, drop the 4870 for a 4850 or similar.

if your gaming extends to requiring a gaming system then i'd go for the vulcan, adding on your monitor, keyboard, o/s etc

For what you want to use ya pc for, I'd go for a MacBook Air.
Wont get anything better in the pc world, does the job and looks great.

Not knocking pc's but based on your criteria its well up to the job and more aesthetically pleasing than a pc.
