Spec HTPC £600 (ish)

Hi Guys

I'm planning on building a HTPC/occasional gaming rig and am looking for advice on specification.

Requirements for the rig are listed below:

Processor: Needs to be capable of laughing in the face of any encoding/ripping tasks and semi-respectable gaming stats. Additionally, streaming Hi-Def (1080p) content with absolutely no probs.

Hard Disk: I'm hoping for some sort of RAID config yet to be decided. Approx 2 Gb with respective backup. I'd also like to opt for a SSD for Windows.

Blu-ray/DVD: Blu-ray drive required as I'd like to rip my collection and store it digitally - may go for NAS at a later stage as I know Blu-Ray rips are fairly sizeable.

Case: Horizontal to fit in a TV cabinet.

Keyboard/Windows: Already sourced.

It will predominantly run XBMC and be used for some gaming. The budget is pretty flexible.

This has gone quite a bit over budget, sry, but Ive included all you asked for except SSD (another ton on top) - If you want to bring the price down you can drop the gfx back to the 768mb 460, and the case back to the OcUK value one which is quite a bit cheaper but has no ETA on when it will be in stock
