A mate is after building a PC for under £1000 if he can help it, hes got a case (coolermaster stacker nvidia thing), HDD, 1080p monitor, 1000w Antec PSU, plenty of cooling fans, keyboard and mouse ECT.

He's just after a spec for CPU, MOBO, GPU, RAM, Cooler (+paste).

Im not convinced dropping the GPU spec for an SSD will be worth it from a gaming point of view, is it? also, £1000 is the upper limit, if we can get it down, that would be great :) oh and it has to last 4 years or more gaming at 1080p!

im thinking;

I5 3570k (when is it due? )
Z77 (obviously) but which one?
8GB RAM or 16, depending on price
GTX 680 (not sure which is best? )
( thinking Gelid for cooler, but would want 4.5Ghz out of it)

Also, he's looking at bundles, purely from the aspect of them being stable out of the box, along with the 12 month collect and return warranty.

Cheers guys :D

i wouldnt hold out on the ivybridge cpu's some early reviews are saying that the 2500k would be a better choice if overclocking, but that is if it will actually be overclocked, but bare in mind those are engineer cpu's and may differ slightly when retail are sold publicly
