OK, i am currently in the market for a new gaming machine

To cut a long story short i currently own 2x 980Ti cards and now need a machine to go with them.

A new OS is required as well as a monitor that will do the 2 cards justice. I currently have a 1080p 144hz monitor (Asus's VG278HE) but this will be wasted on the cards. I would like to still use the screen as a secondary

If required i can up the budget to £1500 but i would only do this for a big upgrade

currently have 27" so around that. I would like 4K but im a real whore about playing games at max settings which may not be possible on my budget at 4k

Here's a start. It's over your top budget, even. But close enough to tempt with a monitor that ticks all (or many of) the boxes, on paper, to get the most out of your dual 980Ti's. Remains to be seen how good they turn out and what quality of support is provided. I would talk to OcUK staff to find out how they support these Acers, too.

I'm of the same mind, currently - would buy into 1440p with all the works - IPS, high refresh rate) rather than 4K @ 60 Hz and still struggle in some games.

Different case, different SSD, different RAM, and the total cost can come down quite a bit, too.

Predator XB270H 27" 1920x1080 TN 144hz Gaming Widescreen LED Monitor - Black/Red

Ive been told that you can hardly tell the diffrence between a good 1920x1080 and a 4k monitor .

Ok a little update

Some stuff happened and got married lol. So haven't really brought the system yet but now all that is done i can concentrate on a new PC.

As per above nothing has really changed only now i want to go the VR route so no new monitor required budget is still £1500 with the head set to come later. Still have the 2 x 980 TI but would now like a new gaming mouse and keyboard.

Thanks for all your help in advance guys

Here is a Skylake build. If you want X99 then swap the cpu/board for the i7 5820k/Gigabyte X99 SLI bundle and change the Ram to a Quad kit.

Not that well up on Mice/Keyboards so maybe best to wait for suggestions on that or check out some reviews.

Which make/model 980 ti's do you have ?
