Any requirement to x-fore 2 cards these days?

I'm somewhat "out of the loop". Also, is an i7 be overkill when the most that will be done is gaming, surfing, movies?

i5 is more than enough for gaming.

If you want to add a second Gpu, then you would want at least a 750W Psu.
You could actually have 2x760 and still be in budget.
If you like the case and the build, it is a very decent system. But if you prefer an ATX case, then we need to look at something else.

I'll be honest, I don't know the advantages of an ATX case over the one quoted by you guys :o 2x760 would be preferable assuming it would more likely ensure max settings.

Maybe something like this. This would leave you enough to add a second 760, upgrade the case and Psu, as well as a bigger hdd. All with in your budget.

On that note, you think the 2600\2700k would be just as competent?

Most certainly :)

They might have a lower ipc then ivy or haswell, but they'll clock up well and don't have heat issues. Even an average/poor chip you're looking 4.6-4.8 on good air.

My 3820 clocked to 4.825ghz gives about 80% usage with a pair of 7970's clocked at 1250/1700 (both hitting 99%) in bf3.

How does this look...

And maybe, the Antec P280, I have this and would recommend it for silence and very good ventilation. It also offers more options for cooling, as I `m not to sure how good the H40 is compared to other coolers. You might be better off going for a refurbished H100 if you really want a CLC or just get a decent air cooler.

And an XFX Psu. I have the TX750W V2 non modular but it has a Seasonic OEM. Not sure if the new V2 are the same quality.
