Only need Motherboard Ram and CPU, must be able to play bf3 at low/medium with over 30fps as minimum fps if possible, i have a 7770 waiting, for my nephew.

Cheers

Thank you very much for the quick reply! I will be doing some research on those components, thanks.

At 100 posts you get free P&P. The i5K is on offer this week it can be overclocked on a Z77 mobo. The Z77 D3H is a fine mobo and has the lucidMVP software which can use the CPUs IGP to boost the 7770 GPU.

The parts RJC suggested are great, spend your time in the forum getting your post count up. Either hang around in general discussion or ask us questions about your build/proposed parts. We would love to see a build log of the build once done if you had the time :)

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £167.99
1 x Asus P8Z77-V LX2 Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £69.98
1 x Kingston HyperX Beast 8GB (2x4GB) PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX16C9T3K2/8X) £35.99
1 x Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo CPU Cooler (Socket 775 / 1155 / 1156 / 1366 / AM2 / AM2+ / AM3 / FM1 / FM2) £26.99
Total : £300.95 (includes shipping : FREE).

Yeah, I only just read that above 100 posts you get free postage, awesome!

i think I'll be going with what you guys recommended then, the lucky little bugger will be benchmarking better than my machine no doubt lol!

The build will do him for quite sometime

The i5K is currently on offer, at this reduced priced in my opinion it makes sense to use the saving to help pay for a heatsink. By doing so you can overclock the CPU and realise it's true potential.

The Asus mobo I used is well spec'd and also on offer. I've used the Z77-D3H personally many a time but it's a bit dear at the moment, is a fine mobo though. The corsair XMS3 RAM is what I would probably buy myself at current prices. The Kingston beast RAM is quite tall, I used it simply to balance the build to your budget.

I look forward to seeing what you decide on
