Hi Guys,

I need a new PC desperately.

I don't need a PSU or Case. I already have those.

I want to spend around £450 or cheaper.

I will Need
CPU + cooler
Motherboard
RAM
GFX
SSD - Enough for windows really.

I play a lot of games basically and browsing internet.

Not bothered about AMD or Intel want the best bang for buck basically.

James

surely the case won't.
I'm gonna buy a betfenix case anyway.

The PSU is OCZ ModXStream Pro 600w Silent SLI Certified Modular Power Supply

I don't need a storage drive right now I can use my old one until the week after and buy another. would rather spend the extra £30 or so on better gfx or cpu or even a bigger SSD

The size of the case matters - if you have a micro ATX or mini ITX case then the choices of motherboard change.

Anyway, I'd go for an i3 build. Better IPC than the X4 860K although it costs a chunk more too.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £413.41
(includes shipping: £10.50)

Best bang for the buck is going to be AMD, the Intel i3 is only dual core while the AMD Athlon x4 is quad core.

What games are you looking to play and at what resolution?

The i3 is dual core with hyperthreading. It will look like a quad core to games. That, and the higher IPC make it a better choice for gaming.

WoW, League Of Legends, WoT will be the main 3.

Resolution would be 1920x1080

I do have a second screen on which I use to see some apps like TS3, time date etc nothing serious just a few rainmeter apps.

you wont get a good graphics card with intel, which is why i chose what i did.

i have a haswell i3 and my computer came with a 750 plus 8gb ram and a 350w psu and 1tb hdd amongst optical and motherboard obviously and cost £475, was a prebuilt mind, you couldnt build my system how it is now(nothing spectacular really) for your budget from what i can see unless you go used.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £320.96
(includes shipping: £11.10)

this is the rest if my system(its not a oc prebuilt) apart from the ram and optical drive brands are different, but the i3 4160 doesnt seem to be listed anymore, so add £95 for that and my 270x cost £74 and i have a coolermaster K350 case, so your looking at around £500 minimum which is actually pretty good considering mine cost 475 with 8gb and a gtx 750 and a 350w then to add on over £100 without monitors included and before getting the 270x.
