They are for all intents and purposes, equal in gaming performance. Unless you run a FRAPs benchmark on both (on exactly the same system), you wouldn't be able to tell the difference in everyday gaming.
The HD7770 does have the advantage of lower power consumption and potentially heat/noise, although the latter two are subjective and more down to the card's cooler than anything else.
