Currently have a Alienware aw3821dw, it was nice to start with. The the local dimming and dark scenes are just absolutely horrible. I've got an OLED tv and honestly, I can't use LCD/IPS anymore, it's just not even close and the restrictive contrast ratio is an utter pain.

Primary use is gaming, very little work done on it. Ideally 42", max 48". I want to go back to 16:9, no more UW however if the screen is 48" I'd like it to be able to display in UW ratios if I choose.

Must haves:
Minimum 120hz
Displayport (latest)
HDR10
VESA mounting
OLED (anti glare is a nice to have but not essential)

Price doesn't really matter, I'd say more than 2.5k is going to raise my eyebrows and have to be damn good for anything more than that

Thanks guys, I did consider the LG c2 (seeing as I have a LG oled for the home cinema) however the auto dimming would end up driving me insane I think.

Although, it might do until I decide on something long term. I'm currently tempted with the soon to be released asus rog pg42uq.

Thats my issue with that screen. It offers a few minor improvements only over the LG C2 and yet costs more than double. I just couldnt justify that spend esp when knowing what I really want is a 42" QD OLED 175hz screen with both DP and hdmi.

So the tv will do as a stand in for a few years.

I'm now in the same boat, I was tempted by the Asus, but for my use case, the LG C2 has 90% of the features I'd like that Asus has. With it being literally half the price here in Holland, I'm going to get the LG C2 and upgrade it later next year as the OLED market is certainly taking off and I imagine there will be some big announcements next year on the subject.
