Hi guys, its a build for a friend. He already has a case, PSU, so its just motherboard, RAM, HDD and graphics card. His budget is around £500

Is there much difference performance wise between the 2?

Ultimately the i5 is the better performer across a wider range of games but the FX does well in certain titles especially BF4.

Consoles have gone 8 core so it would be safe to say the AMD might get even better if games start to utilise 8 cores.
