First of all i want to say sorry for the third post which has been almost simmilar too my previous.

So... over last few days ive been playing with sums and different builds, asking for advice ect, but im really stuggling too put together a build that i am happy with. So instead of thinking myself as i do have little knowledge on whats best and why and goign mental at the same time, im going to try see what you guys can come up with. Number of things have got me puzzled and lost is just the components and the large variety of which will work best with what or something like AMD vs Intel. Ive spent a lot of time looking into the parts but still lost so heres what i want people to spec for me. If someone has already spec'd something please dont be afraid to post your own personal thoughts and explain why. Buying a new PC or even doing upgrades isnt something i can do often due to the lack of £s ;)

I currently play the game Aion and dont think ill be changing from it for a long while (Its the new WoW craze sort of thing MMO) The game can be demanding at times in wide scale battles that can have over 200 people in one area and thats where my old system really struggled. I seemed to drop to 9-12 FPS and most of the time crash out but genneraly i could hold at 60-80 FPS on average out of wide scale battles. i was using a 4850 1gb and a Q6600 cpu, So i need something that can help improve that. Im also one of those guys who enjoy the details, so i want to be able to run my games in full settings full AA which is currently 4x atm on Aion. Another thing to consider is the game is currently using DX9 but has already announced a new upgrade with looking at the previews will involve Direct x10 tops so if a card like the 4890 will perfrom better with DX10 than say the 5770 would in DX10 than i would much rather have the 4890 or a simmilar card, so DX11 isnt really importiant to me for now. Perhaps in a years time when more games use DX11 i would look into a upgrade. I could also be persuaded to the Nvidia route though if it would help performance ive always had ATI but willing to change. I know a few things i already defo want so ill list them now.

Antec 300 Three Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case - Black [£44.99]
Samsung SpinPoint F3 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (HD502HJ) [£38.99]
Samsung SH-S223C/BEBE 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM [£18.99]

Total = £102.97

Remaining to Spen = £547.03

Components Needed:

CPU
Motherboard
GFX Card
Ram
CPU Cooling

Sorry for the long post but i wanted to give a clear as possible idea to what i need from the rig. Thanks all for the help in advance

*NOTE* I will be ordering this tomorow hopefully so parts listed must be in stock.

i think the gpu is the ting thats gonna eat your budget TBH full AA can be very demanding and can be the difference between a good card and bad
i have a 4870 i play crysis on mid to high setting with no AA and it looks gr8 IMO but if i turn AA on then things get a little jerky you'll definately only be able to afford amd set-up if that budget had to include gpu

thanks for the replys keep them coming still a few hours before any final desicions, im really looking into the proccesors and reviews all over the webs now and now id ask you oppinion, which is going to help me more in gaming?

AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 965 Black Edition 3.40GHz (Socket AM3) - Retail

Or

Intel Core i5 750 2.66Ghz (Lynnfield) (Socket LGA1156) - OEM

They are both the same price :)

Thanks again!

Either; with both those CPUs you are going to be GPU limited anyway. get the cheapest build; what happened to the 955?

I would definately consider a 4890 instead of the 5750 if you can pay a little more. If you are going to xfire 5700s you can probably donwgrade your PSU to about 600W. The stock AMD cooler is supposed to be almost as good as the AC freezer 7 so you can save £20.

stock amd coolers are pretty pans IMO i just about survive with mine at the mo

why such expensive PSUs? corsairs 550w/650w are plenty of reliable power for £65 and £76 respectively. THAT will save you some dough.

also on any project whether PC's or not I add a 5-10% 'unforseables' to the price

Just try and get the best graphics card you can afford, it is a 'gaming' build after all,you want to have no to few regrets, good luck

Why not spend your money on some after market cooling and OC your q6600? Then spend the rest on GPU.

that pc is going to my miss's parents. So im going to get a whole new rig.

Ive got another day before i order, i was ment too tonight but decided to give it an extra day to make sure i def get the best i can with the money. From what peiopel are sayign the 4890 is going to be the card i will get, i can sell my HD 4850 in the new year and it should bring in some extra £s later on next year, but ofc i cant put that to the budget yet as its not sold.

Current Plan Rig:

Antec 300 Three Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case - Black [£44.99]
Samsung SpinPoint F3 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (HD502HJ) [£38.99]
Samsung SH-S223C/BEBE 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM [£18.99]
XFX ATI Radeon HD 4890 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card [£139.99]
OCZ ModXStream Pro 700w Silent SLI Certified Modular Power Supply [£64.99]

Total: £303.83

That leave mes 300 for:

CPU
Motherboard
Ram
Coolling and all wies ect i need, any ideas :)?

this isn't exacly help, but the psu you picked is realy good, got 1 myself, and its great, but I would maybe get a different case, thought some people would have said that allready, but guess not.. I read that, they are sometimes alittle tight to get everything in, and sometimes they make your pc run hotter, but I dunno if its true or not, because I use a antec 902, but to help your build, I would say, go for a amd 965 setup, with all the other stuff you said, not to sure on ram, because I'm using the pentium duel core OcUK bundle (which uses 4gig of ddr2 ram), with a asus gtx260 TOP version, and its fast, and plays all my games realy smooth, like crysis warhead

One big advantage of that motherboard is you can add a second graphics card later in crossfire.

I've heard people suggest steering away from the OCZ PSU, and going for the Corsair 650 instead - it's not modular, but is still plenty powerful enough.

thats a great build, and nothing is missing, well unless you want more fans, then thats whats missing :p and you get a good game for free, with the cpu

i went for the 700 because i may add another 4890 later on and more fans ect, the supply is on offer atm and £2 more for an extra 100W seeemed a good deal to me. Call me noob but whats modular  another reason is that it would put me another £10 over my budget which im already over and really cant afford to do more.

ouch at home premium price, you're not a student are you?:( then you could get the deal...

Nope im not unfortunantly, and yeh home prem was a kick in the nuts for its price. Over the years ive only ever owned genuine if it came with the bre puilt PC. Other than that i use too torrent my windows but ive found windows are getting better at stopping this and i wanted to have a version that i wouldnt need to mess with and could aslo install on a different PC if needed too rather than getting the OEM and being stuck too one PC.

modular means you use what power cables you want by plugging them into the PSU, there won't be a 'nest' of unecessary wires therefore

I'm sure your PSU will be fine, my mate was unlucky and had a dead on arrival OCZ PSU but it's just one of those things...
