Need a PC for a relative, will be used purely for gaming (bit of web browsing etc).

He has keyboard, monitor & mouse and will use Win 7 RC.

Budget is £650 not the greatest, but I was thinking something AMD with a decent GFX card?

Yeah what he has spec'd is about all you are going to get on that budget.

Has he thought about sound ? As in buying a decent sound card? however that will then put him over budget by about 80 quid.

Looks good, if I switch the case to the scout that should do him (he's into his flashing lights ;) )

I thin the onboard will do him, he only has 2.1 speakers so it wont make much difference.

Good thread, I'm thinking of a similar spec although hoping to get a mobo for around £50.

I've not read good things about OCZ - and personally would prefer corsair.

Will you be overclocking the 720?

Only thing I would point out is the GFX card being an XFX one..

Aren't XFX known for their poor RMA support? Would it be better paying a little bit more to get a better warranty provider?

Ocuk will be providing the warranty:

***EXCLUSIVE Premium Priority 2 Year Warranty***

In the unlikely event of your card failing within 2 Years, OcUK will replace your card with a brand new one, pending testing within our standard RMA terms and conditions (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/support.php).
