Hi guys just a lil help/advice...

Not kept my eyes on PC equipment technology/hardware for many years now, but looking to get a nice rig for some gaming with old friends...

I currently have 1*Asus GeForce GTX 560Ti DirectCU II TOP 1024MB, HDD's, Monitor, mouse+keyboard which I am happy to use from current(old) system..

So basically looking to upgrade, Mobo, CPU+fan, RAM, PSU and possibly case (ideally I would like to keep my current comp as it is change of gfx card, just to have another ok pc for the family, however if the money for the new case is better well spent ((considerably better rig)) then I could use my current Coolermaster Elite Case )

Hope this is all clear...

Looking for Mobo, CPU+fan, RAM, PSU, Case(maybe) all for ~£700

Thanks in advance, Al

Something like this:

1 x Corsair Obsidian 550D Quiet Midi Tower Case - Black £109.99
1 x Gigabyte Z77X-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £104.99
1 x Alpenföhn K2 Mount Doom CPU Cooler (Socket LGA1156/1155/1366/AM2/AM2+/AM3/AM3+/FM1) £64.99

Got a nice colour scheme going too.

Should be perfect, if your just going for one GPU, if you going for SLi you'll need a higher wattage PSU ~700W

"Krypton Z77 680i" Intel Core i7 3770K 3.50GHz @ 4.50GHz DDR3 Ivybridge Overclocked Bundle £380.65
Chosen Option
Samsung Green (MV-3V4G3D/US) 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz 30nm Dual Channel Kit £44.99
Corsair Enthusiast Series TX 850W V2 High Performance '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £102.98

NZXT Phantom 410 Enthusiast Midi Tower Case - Black £94.99

Order Total: £725.24

I initally thought something along these lines?

Looks like good kit. The cooler is decent, and has a good fan.

I would pick up the Antec P280, Fractal R3, or Obsidian 550D. Dunno much about the phantom, seems well reviewed.

PSU is fine, maybe OTT for the system.

Thanks a lot dude..
So this would be more than sufficient for me instead of the i7 setups?
Oh and would this PSU support an extra GPU - Sli in the futre?
If so ill be ordering shortly :)

i5 is all you need for gaming and doing general stuff. i7 if you do a lot of video transcoding, photoshopping and effects, or rendering. But even i5 will be plenty.

I'd go with Idleman's suggestion. Looks well balanced with a nice quiet case and cooler.
