I usually help on these kinda threads, instead I'm the one looking for suggestions. I'm only looking for D0 920 i7 setup. No AMD.

EDIT: Also require DVD writer, CPU cooler and RAID 0 (2 HDDs)

This is what I have.

Also, incase you are wondering about the my sig, I'm hopefully selling it as whole PC, so no, I can't keep the 280 ;)

Crap ye, forgot a DVD drive and CPU cooler :p Also, surely the 2000MHz OCZ ram is better? I'm looking to overclock this to 4GHz if possible. RAID 0 is also a necessity.

i do belive there is a dvd drive in the spec,and no way does double the prive for the ocz ram justtifie the performance gains, i doubt you will even notice it, and you didnt have a cpu cooler in your original spec. and you didnt say you wanted raid.....

assumed you already have optical drives

DDR3 1600 and a cheaper motherboard to include a better cpu cooler and a second hdd for raid 0 wd 640 gb drives contain only two platters and I get around 200mb/s read/write

That's what I meant, I forgot to add the DVD drive and cooler in my spec. Forgot to mention RAID 0 - although I put two HDDs in mine.

As for the RAM, I just thought it was ideal for overclocking to have higher frequency.

@user1453

I think 700w is slightly overkill. I'm not looking into SLi/Crossfire. Also, what are the Gigabyte boards like at OCing? I have always been an ASUS man.

DS3 review

As for ram, you probably won't get much gain over 1600 in real world tests, the triple channel gives tons of bandwidth and besides the ocz sticks should be goot to 1800mhz

If you can spend 50 quid more you can get this, overclock on a par with the asus rampage II

Went with the gigabyte board as seen decent things about them, and decent overclocks.

Didn't see mention on whether the antec 900 was a must so changed it to an antec 300.

Providing it looks decent, its the airflow which is the main priority of choosing a case.
