As title really. Are there any decent, minimal restriction flowmeters out there? Ideally I want one that doesn't have to be hooked to the mobo. ie is all self contained (Includes LED/LCD display?)

They're all gonne be restrictive m8 tbh. Anything apart from a pump is gonna reduce your flow. Curious as to why you would want one?

The ones with "builtin" reporting (LCD etc) all tend to be WAAAYYYY off the mark, and restrict flow by a fair degree (ie: step down to a 4mm or 6mm jet within the flowmeter).

The best way to do it is to get a Swissflow SF800 (the best affordable and least restrictive one to use for PC Watercooling), and connect it to a MatrixOrbital or similar. The SF800 only drops down to a 10mm jet, so is the equivalent of having 1/2" tubing step down to 3/8" for 2" of length, then back up to 1/2". If using 7/16" tubing, then the restrictivity won't be noticeable.

Hmm, might stay away then. I was going to get one to simply act as an extra safety feature, so that if the pump stopped for some reason, I would be able to notice quickly. Thanks for the advice guys.

Get a DDC based pump - they have an RPM cable to hook to mobo's CPU Fan Header, then turn on Fan-Fail protection in the bios.

Oh so thats what its for. :o

My loop(Still all boxed up until I get the case back from Gray Mole) currently consists of;

DDC2 + Petras top
120.1 Thermochill rad
2x Maze 4 GPU blocks
Maze 4 NB block
Tygon 1/2" tubing
2x DD fillports (Im going to use one as a drain at the bottom of the case)
DD fillport res

Ive also got Pentosin G11, Zerex and PT_Nuke and UV dye. Not sure which to use yet. Probably going to go with Distilled/Deionised water + PT_Nuke + UV dye. :)
