Hey guys so for the £1200 I would really just like the tower.
I have monitors keyboard mouse etc.

The graphics card just has to be good, I'd rather invest in good memory and cpu as I use it a lot for work (3d artist).

Would love an SSD for windows 7(need os too) and at least 2TB for storage

Cheers

You guys have never let me down so far :P

Woah thanks a lot guys, i'm super excited about putting this guy together.
Based on your advice this is what I'm thinking of going with.

Intel Core i7-4770K 3.50GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail with FREE Grid 2 PC Game £269.99
(£224.99)
Gigabyte Z87-D3HP Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £106.99
(£89.16)
Kingston HyperX Black 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C10 1600MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit (KHX16C10B1BK2/16X) £99.95
(£83.29)
Plextor M5S 128GB Solid State Drive - (PX-128M5S) £89.99
(£74.99)
Toshiba (7K3000.D) 3TB SATA 6GB/s 64MB Cache - OEM (DT01ACA300) HDD £85.99
(£71.66)
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-Bit - OEM (GFC-02050) £83.99
(£69.99)
Corsair Carbide 300R Mid Tower Windowed Case - Black £69.95
(£58.29)
Corsair Hydro H80 High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler *Manufacturer Refurbished Unit - 90 Day Warranty £35.99
(£29.99)
LG GH24NS95 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £19.99
(£16.66)

So my only questions are:

Seeing as I won't be overclocking this machine, what power supply would you recommend to go with this build?

I've never had a liquid cooler before (liquid in computers scares me a bit :D), is this necessary if I'm not overclocking? Are they easy to fit?

Is this card the best bang for buck around the £200 price mark?
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 760 WindForce 3x OC 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

Thanks again

Thanks man I'm gonna do a bit more research but that graphics card looks great.
edit: Probably gonna go with this one 1 x Gigabyte GeForce GTX 760 WindForce 3x OC 2048MB PCI-Express Graphics Card £229.99
Added the PSU too :)
I'm not keen on waiting a couple of weeks for these to come in.
Corsair Hydro H80 High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler *Manufacturer Refurbished Unit - 90 Day Warranty £35.99
Anyone know of a good alternative that I can order today?

Also thinking of getting a couple of monitors. I'm an artist so my only concerns with monitors are the actual picture quality. I'm going to get a dual arm so I can mount them to my desk and have them adjustable.

Hey maybe I could wait a little longer and get the
Corsair Hydro H80 High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler *Manufacturer Refurbished Unit - 90 Day Warranty £35.99.
Definetly worth getting that free p&p cheers for the tip :)

That Corsair H100i CPU Cooler seems very expensive compared to the
Corsair Hydro H80 High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler *Manufacturer Refurbished Unit - 90 Day Warranty £35.99.
bearing in mind that I won't be ocing this rig.

If your definitely not overclocking save a few quid and use the stock Intel heatsink and fan, they are afterall made for the job.

I don't understand why they are suggesting the H80 when the CM-690II can fit the refurb'd H100 which is better and so very little extra

I'd atleast like to have the option to overclock, it's not hard to do. This is £50 under budget so you could up the mobo and PSU to allow for Xfire/SLi, or indeed make some slight tweaks as you see fit. For panels you are probably better off looking at IPS monitors to be fair fella.

Yeh you're right man I didn't wanna overclock a rig this expensive, but I'm sure later down the line I will wanna have a tinker :) Definitely a good idea to be able to do that

I didn't even look into IPS monitors. I got so much research to do still!

I'm still considering getting 32GB of memory on this build so have been looking at these
Kingston HyperX Beast 32GB (4x8GB) PC3-17100C11 2133MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX21C11T3K4/32X)
Is it true I would have to get windows 7 professional to take advantage of anything over 16gb of ram?

Yip 16GB is the limit for Win7 Home Premium 64bit. There is a trial for Win 8 you can download and use for free for 3 months. Even the "Basic" Windows 8 allows more than 16GB of RAM (See here). As it's free there is no harm in trying it out to see if it suits you ok.

Hey what i've seen of windows 8 so far looks great (except the missing start button but they're adding that back in). Just need to check there aren't any issues with the 3d software I use. Also cheaper than windows 7!

That ram I posted in the post above looks pretty chunky, anyone know if there could be problems getting 4 of them to fit comfortably?

Sorry about all the questions I just seem to be getting genuinely good replies

Yes it is rather clunky, although I used it because it was cheaper than the Patriot Mamba RAM. So long as you use a CLC or the stock heatsink you'd be ok with the Beast
