I don't know if you can still buy 16:10 monitors, but I certainly prefer them to 16:9 monitors. If I do have to go 16:9, then that's just something I'll have to deal with - 16:10 is my preference though.

I currently have a Samsung 2233RZ 22" monitor. Although I do want to increase in size, but not massively so - I suppose 24" might be a sensible step up, or even a tiny bit bigger.

The monitor will be primarily used for web browsing and general desktop use. I will also be using it to play games, watching films etc and a spot of Photoshop (nothing serious, very basic and infrequent work).

I don't know if I would like to stay with Samsung or not. Do they still make decent monitors or can I get the same/better quality and value for my money by choosing another brand?

I am going to say my budget is £200. If OcUK don't sell the monitor you recommend, just paste the make and model number - I will let Google do the rest. :D

My previous monitor was 16:10 24".

If you do decide to go 16:9, don't get 24" as you lose a fair chunk in vertical height. To get a similar, or bigger vertical height you want to go for 27" 16:9 (which I have now)

One heck of a thread bump, but once more I am on the lookout for a replacement to my trusty Samsung 2233RZ.

I do a bit of offline FPS gaming, but not a major amount - but I'd rather not see ghosting and my 2233RZ doesn't seem to have ghosting issues despite it not costing the earth.

I do still prefer the 16:10 ratio, but I am prepared to move to 16:9 if 16:10 are silly prices - and quick search reveals that they are more expensive that 16:9, while getting lass bang for buck!

Budget wise, I'd rather keep to £150 or under. But if paying a little more gets me a decent monitor, I'll pay it.
