I think he's quite right. It's a good FPS - nothing more.

If someone can tell me something that makes it, what appears to be, the must own game of the century then I'm willing to hear it.

I do own it and I have completed it. I just found it a good game rather than a brilliant one.

How far did you get? The start may seem a bit slow but it's worth sticking with it to get into it. It's much better than any other single player fps imo.
 
I should have kinda seen the flaming but tbh only 2 people said anything constructive. The rest just said the usual brain washed "Hl2 r0cks my w0rld" etc etc.

Bin a long time since i played it now, i dont even remeber what order it was in. I know ive drove a buggy running over things trying to kill me, ive had a fight on this bridge with some big flying thing. Err saved some hut full of people from strange things i dont really remeber.

To me it just feels like a better then average FPS story. The multiplayer i found to be rather boring indeed.

But i know im probably not the majority, doesn't really bother me. I have quite high expectations of games theese days after playing them from a very young age and now just seeing the same tripe being redone. I gues some people are just more happy to except being fed the same things in differnt skins. Having said that Hl2 is something newish, just didn't take my fancey.

And for the record why bother linking to reviews? Everyone knows the majority of them are paid for. Ive played many a game that i didn't agree with the review. And lastly the majority are not always right, oftern just sheeps. So i dont really care if millions of people dissagree anyway.

I was only saying :p And it does have user votes too. Gamespots user votes are at 9.4 with 35k votes. There is sort of a point where you have to say people arent just sheep and its genuinely a good game...

And multiplayer doesnt really come into account when we're talking about Half Life 2 as being a single player game...

I just bought crysis wars from steam :D BUT i already have ALL the half life stuff you can get from steam but i am a big fan, if you havent played half life in anyway shape or form then get them as they are with out a doubt fantastic, if you have then get i recommend crysis wars :)

do not buy shaun white snowboarding - the contols are horrible and it is just terrible

plus it takes 16 years to download
