I've been deciding for a little while that due to the fact I work more than I do game on a laptop nowadays, I would much prefer going back to a 17" setup as opposed to having a 15". I've been using my Dell 15 7559 now since February and while it absolutely blows me away, I just don't use it to it's full potential and for what I do on it mostly for work - a slightly down tuned 17" setup would be ideal for me now.
Anyway, I've got between £500-£600 to spend. What options do I currently have that could be recommended? Besides it being a 17", an i5 would be essential as well as 8 or 16GB of RAM, I would love something that is of a slim build & the ability to add an SSD is definitely a must (one that can accommodate my 250GB Samsung 850). Dedicated graphics isn't the be all and end all for me as mentioned above but something like an nVidia 8 series would be nice at least so I can stream YouTube fluently at full resolutions.
I've looked at a couple online that seem to appeal, one of them being the Dell 17 5000 but also a Lenovo one (I can't remember the model now). I've also been checking out the Dell Outlet online as I wouldn't mind settling for a refurbished unit as well given my budget. Something like a second hand MSI GS70 would suit me as well but given that most examples on the bay are over 2 years old now, I feel that it may get a bit dated in no time.
