Spec me a 24" for pc/ps3

Samsung P2450H vs Samsung B2430H which is better ? both around the same price £170 ish I take it the former is the superior panel ?

I have ruled out the BenQ backlit Led one as it has no hdmi and I have heard that VGA isn't as sharp as the DVI on it and the ps3 would have to go in via the DVI of course.

Budget max is £180 I'll be going from a samsung 226bw I had gone off these screens as they had changed the res from 1920-1200 to just 1900-1080 but I have since discovered that video and games work better on 1080.

I'll be running ps3 sound with the default cable straight in to an amp and the vid through hdmi / dvi.
Or is a ps3 through a 226bw not as bad as I have read up on ?

Not entirely sure about those two specifically, but in terms of which is better for the res, shouldn't each should have a number of supported resolutions?

I wouldn't discount the BenQ to be honest. VGA may seem horrible compared to the newer digital connection - but even side-by-side it is pretty tough to tell the difference.

For example I was recently working between two PCs using my sisters Dell 2209WA. One on DVI, one on VGA. Hand on heart- the VGA looked just as good as the DVI. I think if you connected either the PC or PS3 via the VGA connection, you would be very happy with the picture.

Some guy said that the benq led one he has tested side by side with another and that vga isn't very good on it.
