Hello all,

after a new primary screen. My current setup are 2 x Iiyama Prolite E435S - Have had these for 3 years now and love them :)

Basically, I want:

A) A new monitor
B) Widescreen
C) 24"
D) Excellent for my photography work.

I will be setting it up to have the 24 as the primary and the 17's as a 2nd and 3rd screen.

Suggestions?

No ideas guys? I was thinking of the 2408?

Not great for photography as it's a PVA and has a horizontal gamma shift.

You really want an IPS screen for photography work, so either the Hazro HZ24Wi or the HP lp2475w.

You will also want a decent calibration device such as the Eye One Display Lt which can be had for around £120.00 if you search.

Hi mate,

Ive got a calibrator (spyder 2) but thanks for mentioning. Excellent, shall have a look for a Hazro, how much do these sell for normally?

OCuk is only place to get them from and they have recently increased the price much to my annoyance

Just looking at the specs of it. The contrast ratio is only 700:1? the 2408 is 3000:1?

Is this going to be noticeable?

Price isn't too bad, was expecting more tbh :)

I think it's a case of Hazro being very honest with their spec and Dell maybe being a bit generous to themselves. My brother has the Hazro 24" and it's a superb monitor, colours are very vivid and we tried out some blu-rays on it - one being the latest Harry Potter which has a lot of dark scenes and the blacks are completely fine, much better than I thought seeing how it's suppose to be a weakness of IPS technology.

Oh and another thing - the Hazro is the best built monitor i've seen. Aluminium case and feels very solid.

Your selling this to me very well :p - you should take up Gibbos job ;) (specially as that's his car on the monitor)

Hmm...I do like the look of it...a lot....

are there any other IPS monitors worth considering?

Thanks,
Jake

Heh i'm not trying to sell it to you (and I sort of realised I was after I wrote those). I just did a fair bit of testing on it yesterday and was very impressed. I'm comparing it the NEC 20WGX2 which uses a similar panel and a glossy screen also and is considered to be, by many, the best 20-22 inch monitor.

There's a HP monitor also - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-003-HP but it uses wide colour gamut which puts me off it personally.
