Need a TFT.

Used for:

Photo work mainly
Needs HDMI for PS3
Well be used for film watching so viewing angles
LED backlighting.

No budget really but £500 top end...

Im thinking brushed silver ally Hazro to match my Mac Pro/Macbook Pro.

Dell has always been good but after reading threads I can't decide!

Opinions?

Cheers

Led backlighting ? £500 budget ? i dont think you will get one for that price.

i cant recommend the NEC 24" enough, awsome monitor, now in the 27" range blah lol

Apple has had LED backlighting in their LAPTOPs for years, why can't the rest of the industry manage it in a less tough environment?

I don't particularly want a 24", i've got a cheap non TN 24" atm.

Sod the LED bit then... Hazro or dell?

both of them have had there issues, but if it was between both those brands that i had to choose from.

dell all the way ;)

I've got the older dell 27 inch - 2707wfp?. Brillant monitor, gaming is fine...with my MX518 I get plenty of headshots.

The only thing I would say is think hard about your purchase. Lately I'm thinking of 30inch screen, and a small part of me is regretting not going for the 30inch dell at that time. Better for your films, another step on the resolution from 1920x1200, higher colour pallettes, more inputs etc

But then again, I would have had to go for the 4870x2 for 30inch gaming whereas now, I can comfortably play at 1920x1200 max with a single HD4870 on the 2707wfp.

30 inch is too big for what I want IMO. Its bordering on TV size!

Im stuck now between the 2709W and HZ26Wi!

2709W over HZ26Wi
• Ever so slightly bigger!
• Displayport connector (Graphics card has output for this)

HZ26Wi over 2709W
• Far better lag time (8/9 times quicker according to reviews!)

Hmmm.... wish I could test both before buying :/

I've got the 2709. Never really noticed any lag during FPS games and I don't play online. However there is light seeping through the top left & right of the monitor (what's it called, backlight bleed?) only really noticable on a totally dark screen. If I hadn't taken this monitor & found out about the light problem, I'd still have bought it. Does the other monitor have any sort of dead/struck pixel guareentee? The Dell is protected against struck pixels, already sent one back once for 1 faulty pixel - right by the clock it was :) so annoying!
