hey peoples, just wonna clear soemthing up which might extend my budget...

basicly i got windows vista 64bit i had on this machine i am using now, moved it onto windows 7 64bit... could i use my old disk on the new system and not worry about microsoft telling me off thinking i have coppied the disk or owt?

ty

Assuming that the copy of vista 64 is a retail version, you should have no issues switching it to another system. You may have to phone microsoft to reactivate it though. If its an oem copy it will be tied to the motherboard it was first installed on.

ok so its possible to transfer to another system, might have to phone up MS, but no extra costs apart from the phone call?

oem's are tied to the mb now? I just ripped the key from the hard drive, and then got a call from MS cause I had upgraded too much hardware.

I would call them to check if this is still the case though!
