After my msi monitor died i need a new one my old one was a 34" ips 175Hz.
so as I'm going to get a new one i want a oled needs to be 32" plus i pef a flat screen but will consider a curved but i dont want a ultra wide tho

The Philips Evnia 34M2C6500-34 is on sale at the moment for a bit over £500, hard to beat at that price imo.

Edit: Ah, you don't want ultrawide sorry! Misread.

32in 4K OLED (flat or curved) for under £800 doesn't exist yet. Best to keep an eye on Hotdeals to see if any hit that mark during Black Friday, the Alienware just might or get v close.

iv never had a UW if that's my only real choice i guess i may as well give it ago
Well that clears it up a little, 34's are Ultrawides and 32's are normal 16:9 screens. So it's a 16:9 OLED screen you're after then, trouble is none are under £800....yet.

Also note that 4k will batter your 3080 a little, it's a harsh resolution to run (no 32" 1440p options on the horizon).

I wouldn't be surprised if we see a 4k 32" OLED for £800 in the next 12 months, but as others have noted, your 3080 will struggle at 4k in the latest titles, so you would need the budget for a GPU as well as a monitor.

Perhaps see if there is a big box store near you with ultrawide monitors you can have a look at to see if they work for you - personally, I can't get on with the curve as I am 75% work, 15% browsing and 10% gaming on my machine and these ultrawide monitors really excel at gaming and video which isn't my main usage

worse comes to worse i could run it at 2k even if its a 4k monitor and im waiting to see what the nvida 5000 series are like

It seems weird at first but your adjust to it fast.
I wouldn't go back.

I was looking at potential upgrades and
Seems like a good deal at 700

I literally had the AW3423DWF in my basket yesterday with an additional 35 pounds off, so around 665... by the time I got to the payment page it was just after midnight and it had increased to nearer 900!!!!

I was a bit gutted and messaged them to see if they would honour it, but no response... i'm back again looking at options.

Just wait it out if you're not in a rush, it's been on sale every few weeks over the last few months.

I am thinking about the LG C4 42 now... i think that actually suits my needs better - work 40% - watching videos/youtube 40 % gaming 20%

For ages I had various UW, mostly Dell*, alongside my main gaming monitor and could never get used to it or adopt it as my main display, now I've retired that option and just have a laptop on a stand taking that space - if anything I think I prefer 16:10 for general use and 16:9 for gaming and movies.

* For a long time I had a Dell U2913WM which actually is a pretty decent monitor, I thought maybe the resolution of 2560x1080 was part of the reason I didn't really get on with it but then replaced it with a couple of different 1440p 21:9 monitors and still wouldn't use an UW as my main monitor.
