Is the Acer X34P still "the one" ?
I've seen a lot of new panels now and I'd like to spend less than that. Minimum 100Hz and preferably Gsync compatible.

Is there a compromise to be had with VA panels ?

You're probably both right - but the traders I knew couldn't care less about refresh rates or Gsync. They do care about clarity, size and style.
In the meantime - there doesn't seem to be much about. That Redwing looks the business but it's Freesync and I'm still on a 1080ti

Not since January 2019 where nvidia released a driver with adaptive sync AKA freesync support. So you got plenty options now to choose from :). Even if the monitor you are looking at isn't Gsync compatible(certified adaptive monitors) you can still activate any adaptive sync monitor(or freesync branded monitor).

That's great news ! Red Eagle it is
