I'm looking at getting a workstation that will be used for 3d modelling animation and also general digital content creation. I use Photoshop heavily in my work. Can anyone help me to spec one.
I will most likely be going along the dual processor route and am looking into either dual Xeons or dual Opterons. I have noticed that some competitors are using Opterons. Having used only Intel chips in the past and present, are they significantly faster?
So as a rough guideline these are my thoughts at the moment:
2 x 2.2 GHz AMD Opteron
Tyan K84E motherboard
2 x 160GB Hitatchi hard drives
Antec P180 case
2GB RAM (Can go to 4GB)
As for the rest of it I don't really know.... Your suggestions would be appreciated.
I do play the odd game but it will primarily be used for work
