Basically, as cheap as possible with the best k/hash rate per £.

I guess it will be AMD-based, but I have no idea what the go-to hardware is for this sort of thing.

I can't spec you as im only on my mobile at the moment but really you're looking for a semperon rig with 4 x 280x's.

Or if noise and heat isn't a big issue, the 290's reference versions are dropping in price after the release of the aftermarket versions.

Power supplies are important for mining rigs. Id strongly recommend a 1200w+ Superflower or antec unit.

As mentioned CPU isn't important as much as PSU and making sure the system isn't going to over heat
