As title :)

This is for a basic system (dual-core, 1 GPU, 1 HDD, 1 Optical, no add-ins) that I'm being noise-conscious with so needs to be as quiet as possible. Would also prefer one that supports both 20-pin and 24-pin ATX connections, but nothing too OTT and expensive. Are Be Quiet! worth considering for a brand? since their PSUs look pretty competitively priced.

Corsair VX 450W ATX PSU (CMPSU-450VXUK)
£37.99
£44.64 inc VAT

50W over, but they are quite or atleast the one i have is.
corsair is about as good as PSU come nowdays, seasonic may be better but they make corsair's PSUs

Been looking at the Seasonics seeing as they're basically the same PSU, and they do 330W and 380W variants, but OcUK don't stock them (although they don't all have to come from OcUK)

Since anything over will be overkill tbh, and I doubt it'll be getting any power-hungry components any time soon to warrant anything higher.

not the VX's they dont. they are made by CWT

Edit: Never mind says it's not that quiet! Still one to consider, though.

Still not a bad make, regardless.

What about one of these: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=ca-085-an&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=103
?

reviews state that the 'earthwatts' psus (although i can only find reviews for the higher range models) are well performing but aesthetically basic power supplies. seems about right for your needs.

pricing is also very good for a good quality power supply. there's much to like here, and very little to dislike.

Think I've decided on the Seasonic S12II-380, basically has everything I want, rated highly at SCPR (looked at their recommended list before) with a good review and comes with the right adapters for my needs. Might even consider the 430 as it's only a few quid more and still cheaper than any of the Corsairs, should last for a good good while then :)

The Akasa PaxPowers are very nice.
Have had one running various secondary rigs for a few years now, absoutely faultless. Dead quite too, far less noise than any of my other psus (Enermax Noisetaker and a Liberty)

Yes, agreed, tho I dont worry that much about my electricity bill, thoi maybe I should (if i did id take my overlcok off)
