Hello

Would like a new TV for the living room, max size is 42” and have a budget of £1000 give or take, not in a rush to buy as yet, so any tv over budget by a few hundred or so can also be recommended as sales come along In the year.

Although an Apple TV is used for smart apps I would like the tv to have the option of the streaming services as well.

My current tv has no internet functionality or 4K/hdr.

Gaming is not needed at all, but I understand most tv’s have good gaming features now, but it’s not important for this new tv.

Preference:

OLED
Dolby Vision
HDR10 +
All the catchup services
42” max size

Thanks

Wanting Dolby Vision and HDR10+ limits the choices a bit. Panasonic have their new model range coming out sometime soon and there's a 42MZ980 in that range. Not entirely sure of the price yet, but there will be offers.

We've got the a Panasonic LZ1000, previous model and slightly higher model and love it. Some people hate the interface, but it works, there's no adverts on it (unlike others....) and it's got Amazon Prime, Netflix, ITVX, Disney+, iPlayer and so on. Big plus is it's stand isn't stupid if you're not going to wall mount it. It's a central mounted stand and it swivels so it's easy to plug things into it.

Only change I'd like them to do is to make the remote a little less... chonky, and maybe add backlit buttons.

Actually the stand is something I need to think about, needs to be central as well, so it fits on my tv cabinet.

I hate the silly legs on either end of the screen. Just impractical. Just says they only intend for it to be wall mounted. Probably 6" from the ceiling and above a tv stand that only holds a single small pot plant, or almost as bad, above a fireplace... ;)

Im going to keep an eye on the Panasonic price, hopefully later in the year the price will drop some. Not sure when Panasonic new line up releases, I know LG is around April/May and then the older range starts to see price drops.
