Spec me a £600 build.

Can you please help me decide on a £600 build.

These are the compomonents i already have.

Dvd burner x2
Sound card
ATI x1600pro (plan to get a 8800 Later on)
Screen.

So i need these components.

Cpu (Must be a C2D)
mobo ( a good overclocker)
ram (2gb)
hd (SATA 200gb+)
Heatsink
case
Power supply.

I can make my add or take £60 at max. I use the pc for Msn/BF2/Photoshop/ Other programs like that.

Thanks Phil

Very tight budget tbh.

Would you consider dropping to 1GB at all? Could easily buy another GB later on.

Edit - The above spec is exactly what I would have suggested, but with 1GB GeiL and a Scythe Ninja HSF. You'd need to upgrade the case and PSU to acommodate an 8800 series card tho.

I'd go with Will_3rd's specification but I'd consider changing the Ram to OcUK PC6400 instead as it has decent enough specifications and will save you around £15, or even the Geil PC6400C5 on This Week Only which will save you around £30. :)

I have managed to get hold of a 600w power supply that will do me fine. and i managed to get hold of a bit more so i have a £600 at max budget. Less the better.

I will want a case that will support the 8800 later on.

Thanks Phil

This might be the best option, actually, Although somewhat limited at the moment (IE - only 1GB RAM), you are saved the expense of having to upgrade the case and PSU when it's time to buy the new graphics card. The e4300 overclocks fairly well on stock cooling, so you've no worries there.

How about this, things can be altered if needed though:

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB ST3250620AS SATA-II 16MB Cache
Asus P5N-E SLi nForce 650 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
Intel Core 2 DUO E4300 "LGA775 Allendale" 1.80GHz (800FSB) - Retail
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400C5 800MHz Value DDR2 Dual Channel Kit
Arctic Cooling T1 Pro Case (500W PSU)
Tuniq Tower 120 CPU Cooler

£464.05 inc VAT

How about this then?

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB ST3320620AS SATA-II 16MB Cache
Lian-Li PC-7 PLUS Aluminium Midi-Tower Case - Black
Corsair HX 520W ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU (CMPSU-520HXUK)
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel
Tuniq Tower 120 CPU Cooler
Asus P5N-E SLi nForce 650 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
Intel Core 2 DUO E6300 "LGA775 Allendale" 1.86GHz (1066FSB) - Retail

Total : £597.93 inc. VAT & Delivery

Definitely a nice looking spec there. But PSU not necessary so you've saved a bit
