spec me a 4x space game

been playing a bit of stellaris recently but find the combat boring and clunky and the game is buggy as anything.

already have sins of a solar empire that i love, combat is great but wouldnt mind something similar but bigger and better.

any suggestions?

Endless Space 2? It's on Xbox game pass for PC atm so you can try it really cheap (£1 for first month, £3.99 after)

I like Distant Worlds, althopugh the engine/ui are pretty much outdated by todays standards. With some mods that extend the tech trees I find it a good sandbox.
