ok so i do not need a mouse keyboard monitor mousemat etc.

i do need obviously a base unit and all of the cables to connect it together.

i will be connecting it too my samsung lcd it is actually a tv so didnt come with any cables such as dvi link cable which is what i will need considering my vga slot is taken up by my xbox 360 =)

i wont be overclocking at all

i do want

e6750
radeon 1950 pro
and 2gb 800mhz ram
i was also looking at the cheap motherboard that supports both ddr2 ram and ddr3 i believe it was a P35

oh and i can stretch too £530 maximum

*EDIT*

the reason i have made another thread is because i now have a larger budget and i didnt know that you didnt get cables to connect your computer parts too the motherboard lol

so now i know that you have to buy all of the cables separately spec away plz

thats what i was originally going to order until somebody told me i didnt include the cables. do i have to buy anything extra too get my system running?

and sorry for typos its late :(

only did a quick look but cant see anything wrong with that, the motherboard should come with sata cables for the drives. the cable ull need to connect it to the tv depends what inputs the tv has. if it has vga in just use a dvi to vga adapter, if it has hdmi youll need a dvi to hdmi cable.

but i will need to buy a dvi cable? or will that come with the video card?

*edit*

it has dvi and vga

the vga slot is currently being used for my xbox 360

what would i use to connect the computer to the dvi slot and do i have too buy anything or will it come with the parts im about to order?

Id suggest a differnt mobo. Ive heard bad things about them, and good things. Just personal preferance. yet to hear a bad thing about the abit pro though.

Also, i suggest buying a heatsink. Not overclocking that processor is a crime.

8igdave can u recommend a different mobo as that one you just talked about is out of stock and is a bit out of my price range do you know of any good mobos for under 90 quid that support 1333mhz fsb

Im not sure how the S-video works. Ive never pluged a pc into a tv. But i *Think* thats the cable it will come with.

As for mobo. Well the forum seems prity evenly devided. Ive turned to the Abit side. Wether they are better then the gigabyte i cant really say. I wouldn't just change just on my word. And if you arnt overclocking it makes no difference anyway.

ok to give you guys an idea of what im talking about my tv resolution is 1440*900 i always thought that s-video was for low resolutions but i just read an article that states you can still determine the resolution yourself on the settings it said that most tvs wouldnt support higher than 800*600 but apparantly you can increase that depending on what resolutions your tv supports so mine supports 1440*900 shouldnt i be able to set the s-video connection to 1440*900 i know it probably wont be as good quality as vga or dvi
but why sacrifice performance for a cable that i can buy late down the line?

If its a HDTV then you don't have to use S-video. Simply plug-into one of the DVI connectors on the GFX.

That said, newer GFX support max:
  • HDTV (Component) out 1920x1080 (1080i)
  • DVI 2560x1600 @ 60Hz Dual-Link
    Single-link/on each DVI = 1920x1200
  • CRT/VGA 2048x1536 @ 85Hz
  • TV out (S-Video) 720x480 (480i) NTSC & 720x576 (576i) PAL
Above is even the cheap ones. So you don't need an expensive GFX just to support your monitor unless gaming? Something like a 8500GT will do & that even has better video processing than the 8800 series & 1950 series thanks to its PureVideo2 engine!

i will be doing a bit of gaming on it the games i want to play are

half life 2
rollercoaster tycoon 3
unreal tournament 2004
battlefield 2
battlefield 2142
and maybe a bit of CIV4

i will play all of these at 1280*1040 so i thought i would get a half decent graphics card

thanks, but how will i go about getting sound through DVI its got a red slot and a white slot.
You could use line-out on onboard sound or soundcard? Alternative is to get a GFX with HDMI (with Integrated HD audio controller) like the ATI HD 2000 series (see here). HD 2600 XT should handle those games in that res fine ;)

Chris1400, this rig might be better given you're going to want to do a bit of gaming:-

Intel Core 2 Duo E2140 "LGA775 Conroe" 1.60GHz (800FSB) - Retail
(£46.99)

Maxtor Diamondmax 20 80GB STM380211AS SATA-II 2MB Cache - OEM
(£25.84)

Corsair HX 520W ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU (CMPSU-520HXUK)
(£64.61)

OcUK GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail
(£176.24)

OcUK 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C5 800MHz DDR2 Dual Channel Kit
(£61.09)

Akasa AK-ZEN-01-BK Zen Black Case - No PSU
(£30.54)

Abit IP35 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
(£88.11)

HP DVD 1035i 20x DVD±RW x12 Ram Dual Layer DVD-Writer (Black) - OEM
(£16.44)

Total : £522.72

As budget allows, I'd put a better/bigger hard drive in there, but that rig will be really fast on games.
