As title.

I have my eye on a well priced e5200 on a competitors site, but they don't have stock at current. So what I'm asking really is is the e5200 the best to go for at this price point, or should I look elsewhere?

The e5200 will come in at £52 delivered if stock is ever replenished where I've placed the order, but I'd go a bit more than that if it's worthwhile for something better (but I'd still like to stick around the £60 mark).

Thoughts?

tried looking for a 2nd hand one at that price?

Not really.

From what I've seen, used e5200's seem to go for about 50 notes anyway. I'm not sure what else would be worth considering used at a similar price (mainly due to lack of hardware knowledge).

I'm so 'out of the loop' that all the Intel designations mean nothing to me!

Yeah, dual core.

I'm not expecting a quad at all, but if someone has one they'd like to part with for £60, then email is in trust! :D

i think for that kind of money you're not gunna get any better, don't think ive even seen a site that offers the e5200s for £52 delivered

Cheers guys.

I'll hold out for a while on the cheap e5200 front then, I'm in no hurry.

That's what i paid for mine. Easily does 3.6Ghz prime stable but needs a lot of tweaking to go further.

your other option here is the e5200's predecessor the e2200 which sells for around £55

Should'nt even be considered really. The E5200 is far superior and worth paying the extra couple of quid.

Used E7200, can get them from around £50+

Got mine clocked to 4.05GHz (same as the E8500 I just got rid of).
