Hi fellow OCUKers, im looking to upgrade from the spec in sig ( sorry about lack of detail ) i know that my RAM is PC2800. I have aproximately £650 to spend on upgrading. I would like to be able to play games such as CoD2 on HIGH with good FPS. Could you guys do your magic please?

How's this? It's got a fairly good CPU (better than you have now anyway), 2GB RAM for furture proofing, I could only get and X1600XT graphics card in with your budget (it's a lot better than what your have now), but this can be upgraded easily in the future and 200GB HD.

For little bit more I'd get this and keep your current HDD:

AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego 90nm (Socket 939) - OEM (CP-150-AM) £124.95

Asus A8N5X nForce4 (Socket 939) PCI-Express Motherboard (MB-120-AS) £51.95

OcUK Value 2GB (2x1GB) PC3200 184pin DDR Memory Dual Channel Kit (MY-006-OK) £89.95

NEC ND4550 16x16 DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter (Black) - OEM (CD-024-NE) £25.50

Arctic Cooling Silencer 64 Ultra CPU Cooler (Socket 754) (HS-015-AR) £4.95 - fits on SKT 939 too

Antec SLK3000B Midi Tower Case - No PSU (CA-027-AN) £27.50

FSP Sparkle AX500-A Blue Storm 500W ATX2.0 PSU (CA-005-SK) £49.95

Leadtek GeForce 7800GT 256MB GDDR3 VIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-069-LT) £179.95

Subtotal £554.70
Shipping (City Link Parcel Next Day (Delivered Mon-Fri)) £10.95
VAT £98.99
Total £664.64

You got fast CPU with 1MB cache that will help in games, a decent stable motherboard, 2GB of memory which will help a lot in games, a DVD burner, a decent CPU cooler, good value for money case, a superb power supply which is suitable for future upgrades and a fast graphics card which would let you play games at high resolutions with AA and AF at a decent frame rate.

Hope that helped!

How about this ...

Asus A8R-MVP Crossfire (Socket 939) PCI-Express Motherboard (MB-129-AS) £82.19
AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego 90nm (Socket 939) - OEM (CP-150-AM)
£146.82
OcUK Value 2GB (2x1GB) PC3200 184pin DDR Memory Dual Channel Kit (MY-006-OK)
£105.69
Samsung SH-W162C 16x16 DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter (Black) (CD-068-SA) £26.97
Antec Performance TX640B-EC Black MiniTower Case - 400 Watt SmartPower PSU (CA-034-AN) £72.26
HIS Excalibur ATI Radeon X1800 XL 256MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-042-HT) £223.19
Total:£657.12 (including VAT)
This option is if you transplant the 120 GB HDD from old system to this.

Really fast CPU & graphics card (a card known to overclock really well). Combined you wont have problems for quite a while. Good mobo with all connectoins your likely to need. 2GB ram will do you really well in games & other apps. Good case with decent PSU - enough for what you have now & to still add extras. Great burner added too.

If you cant keep existing HDD then this optoin would suit..

Samsung SpinPoint P SP2004C 200GB SATA-II 8MB Cache - OEM (HD-017-SA)

PowerColor ATI Radeon X850 XT 256MB GDDR3 TV-Out/DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-037-PC) £146.82

Same as above but has a great 200GB HDD & the graphics card is still great & enough to run all games with.

** Either system will be way better than your current rig **

Enjoy :)
