ok as some would know i already have a pair of octavias which are used as private hire taxi's up here in sunny Glasgow.

now looking at putting another taxi on the road and fancy something a bit different from the Octy.

thoughts so far are

Octavia.
Superb
Pug 406

and erm thats as far as i got

requirements are that the car must be no older than 5 years old and be a 4/5 door with a derv lump under the bonnet :)

spec me a work tool oh mighty ocuk motors :)

You should be able to get an average mileage 407 for that kind of money now. Seems to be a popular choice.

Personally I'd buy a Mondeo TDCi 130 every time. Spec presumably isn't too much of an issue so you should be able to pick up an absolute bargain ex fleet car.

Edit: My dad was a taxi driver and his array of cabs went Montego, Montego again, Bluebird, Bluebird again, Carlton, Omega MV6 (20mpg on a good day). You can't do much worse than that :p.

well thats the killer

this is going to be the wifes personal taxi not just a rent a wreck like the 300k mile octavia we've got. and which our lovely other ocy will then become.

was looking at a l&k octy tdi 130

could possibly consider going up to 7k for a nice motor.

and yes i know just how nice the vag dervs are, we've got 3 lol

AUDI A6 2.5 TDi??

Can pick up a decent one for your budget, mileage seems to vary a lot though.

There is also the 1.9TDI but i would imagine that would seem a little under powered in an A6.

Sidenote: How to you link directly to an advert on autotrader?

seems to have a standard(ish) spec of:

ABS, Alloy wheels, Central locking, Climate Control, Computer, Cruise control, Driver airbag, Electric mirrors, Electric windows, Foglights, Front armrest, Electrically adjustable seats, Head restraints, Immobiliser, Passenger airbag, Power assisted steering, Remote locking, Side airbags, Radio/CD Multichanger, Rear headrests, Traction control
