As title, is there such a thing ? I dont want wireless network, to much hassle, but I have now got 6 things that need connecting, possibly with something else on the way that requires a network.

Iv tried daisy chaining network routers/switches etc but its unreliable at best with 2 devices trying to force there IP's as the dominant one and at the least every 2 days the network goes down.

So 1 device thats a Netgear DG834 (for example) but with more than 4 ports would be great :)

They exist, but they're a hell of a lot rarer than a router (with 1 or 4 ports) and a switch.

Switches don't do DHCP (and don't have an IP), and it's easy enough to change the IP and disable DHCP on a router...

Hmmm so if I got a bog standard netgear switch and plugged it into say port 4 on my netgear dg834 and then plugged in 3 devices to the switch it should just work ? cheers for info
