Can someone please spec me a build excluding the following parts which I have already ordered;
Case (Phanteks enthoo primo)
PSU (EVGA 1300 G2)
HDD (2tb seagate hard drive)
CPU cooler (going custom loop)

Uses for this rig.. Overclocking, hardcore gaming (at 1080/60 ATM but will move onto 1440/144 soon) and nothing more ;)
I would prefer the parts to match the black and blue colour scheme but let's see what you guys can come up with

One more thing, it must have a 4790k

The R9 290 is really the best option then but you'd really have to go Xfire to satisfy 1440p.

:)

EDIT: What loop are you doing and does this need to be within £800 too?

Example Spec of components (-minus Loop)

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte Z97X-UD3H-BK - Devil's Canyon Core i7 4790K CPU & Motherboard Bundle **£35 Saving** £356.98
1 x Gigabyte Radeon R9 290 OC WindForce 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (GV-R929OC-4GD) £319.99
1 x Crucial MX100 256GB SATA 2.5” 7mm SSD + 9.5mm Adapter (CT256MX100SSD1) £79.99
1 x EK Water Blocks EK-FC R9-290X - Acetal £73.99
1 x TeamGroup Xtreem LV 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C10 2400MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit (TXD38G2400HC10QDC01) £62.99
Total : £903.54 (includes shipping : £8.00).

That's more like it, £100 over though and I'm already tight on the budget. And for the loop I'm going with the alphacool 480/60 kit including nb eloop fans and a d5 vario pump :) it's really good value at 240 and add another100 for the backplate and gpu block and 2 fittings and you end up with a WC loop for 340 :)

I really don't want to go over £1500 total budget for now. I've spent 300 already, add in the loop that's 640 in total therefore I got £860 left to get the parts above^

290 wont be so bad at 1440p i don't think, my 770 can almost do it maxed, definitely on high(BF4) (AA only 2*) - of course always get the best you can though

Cracking option from Doomedspeed, have you thought about not watercooling the GPU straight away? and then maybe in a month or so buying the waterblock and doing it then? I saw this because if you don't watercool it straight away it'll free up some extra cash that could come in handy elsewhere.

That r9 290 is dirt cheap wow. And DJ let's say I didn't watercool straight away where do you think the money would be better spent? X79 or X99 or better a GPU

Yeah Stunning price.

Its Pre-order for Wednesday so I doubt that price will last too much longer. The warranty and RMA conditions are perfect for you too. :)

I'd quite like to know where he's spend the extra £80, all I can think of is bigger SSD but that is pretty pointless IMO.

The only problem is that I'm away right now haha! I hope I find a better deal when I get back.

And I think he meant scrap the cpu loop too and spend the extra 300 on a gpu or a bigger ssd?

I think 2x290 would be a good shout since your aiming to game at 1440px144 so it needs a good amount of power. Then getting the loop sorted at a later date.
