spec me a action RPG

I don't recommend Titan Quest. I have it + the expansion (gift from friend), and whilst it is fun at first, it does get boring about half way into the game. You quickly realise nothing changes and you're still doing half way into the game what you were doing at the start.

I have to agree. I played through it multiple times hoping the loot would get better with the increased difficulty, like in Diablo 2. But you end up finding it really really shallow with nothing of interest at the end of the tunnel.

it's very pretty though :)

I think its out next Friday and I believe its an RPG akin to Baldurs Gate - single player only so its not MMO!

In fact "RPG of the decade" according to one PC mag!!

*edit* Damn! Beaten to it.....

what makes it differnt to diablo?

it looks a lot like oblivion to me?

Personally I loved Titan Quest! Surly ALL action RPG's are similar all the way through - level up and deal more damage against foes with more hit points!

Yeh but most manage to vary the monsters, keep the spells varied enough, and keep the player having to work enough to keep you interested. With TQ you're still fighting the same mobs half way through that you were near the start, a large amount of the spells are passive and it leaves you with not much to do. A game like NWN on the other hand executes the balance and variation perfectly.

Like Diablo2, and all other such games. They all do the same thing: kill things, pick up their loot, sell it, buy better gear to kill things. Some of us like doing this if the game is done well enough. Although I'm inclined to agree partly: I never found that the game had what it takes to play it again. I'd say the best of the D2 clones is Sacred2.

Nope, The Witcher isn't much like oblivion really. It's a great game, but if you're after a straight action RPG like Diablo there's probably too much talking and other non-fighting quests in it.

Planescape Torment is being re-released in November. Absolutely cracking game.

It's one of my most favourite games ever released and I'd definitely recommend he played it... but it's definitely not an action RPG :p

If you wanna try Risen, get the demo from Steam. If doesn't go very far, but it'll give you a good idea if you'll get on with it or not. The combat's the hardest thing to love about that game.
