I have been searching for a replacement for my dgn2000 for ages as it seems to be packing in. Also with over 5 consoles in the house no matter what configuration it wont allow them all to have an open NAT which leads of connectivity problems online. I have tried everything.

So what i am looking for is a around £100 wireless N router(can be more, but less if possible), which handles large amounts of media over wireless and wired Ethernet and also has advanced tools such as QOS, port-forwarding, port-triggering or a very well designed UPNP system so all computers and consoles will just work with minimal fuss.

Every router i find on the internet looks promising at first and then I find a page where there are problems with loads of people saying the same thing.

Is it really that hard to find a very good ADSL router?

Linksys E3000 which is in your price range at about £106.

or if you want the newer model E4200 but a bit expensive at £169.

I bought the E4200 last week, and arrived this monday. I must say it is great so far.

Cable routers, not ADSL.

NO... I have ADSL not Cable and I am using the E4200... There is no such thing as cable router or ADSL router... The only thing that matters is if the Router has a built in modem. If yes, then it is only for ADSL. However the E3000 and E4200 do not have in built modems, so can be used for both cable and ADSL. I know because I'm using one...

He asked for an ADSL router, not a cable router. You didn't spec an ADSL modem to go with the cable router.

If the routing part is as good as the WRT320N, it should be a nice router. 2.4 OR 5 GHz is the weak point. So you upgrade everything to 5GHz to escape the crowded 2.4, but then your phone can't connect...

Thanks, i have ordered that.

Is it any good?

Trying to find an adsl router is a nightmare, virtually all of them get slagged off for something, usually dropping connections and overheating.

Been looking for months and nursing my DG834N, but I think my family will kill me soon if I dont replace it.

What's wrong with the DG834N?
I only ask as I have a DG834GT sitting on a shelf that I'm tempted to try as a replacement for my D-Link DSL-G804V.
Has anyone had any problems with the G804V with ADSL2/2+ (21CN)?

The DG834N drops all connections quite frequently. Its a bout 4-5 years old and I think it just overheats.

Im trying one last trick of unbonding the channels and running on a dedicated channel instead of auto.

I think the DG834GT doesnt have a modem and seems to be very well liked if used with alternative firmware. The DG834N however isnt.

If you want to replace like-for-like, get a DG834 and stick DGTeam firmware on it :)
