I'm going to upgrade from the stock AM3 cooler on a Phenom II x3 720 for a bit of overclocking (and maybe core unlocking?) but this is a free PC so don't want to spend very much. So what's the best for about £15?

for 15 quid (don't know how to do the forum coding stuff where people link basket and cost etc :p)

Raijintek Aidos Direct Contact CPU Cooler
Socket Compatibility: 775 / 1150 / 1155 / 1156 / 1366 / 2011 FM2+ / FM2 / FM1 / AM3+ / AM3 / AM2+ / AM2

Or you could go 5 quid better to a 120mm fan, better cooling, quieter etc overclock further, better fans fit it etc

Raijintek Themis Black Heatpipe CPU Cooler PWM - 120mm

Also, that one looks like my corsair A50 which I used on my 2500k at 4.5-5ghz for years before going for a water cooler because.. well I wanted one though there was nothing wrong with my A50, I just wanted something new :p but my A50 was a fantastic cooler, infact its in my missus's rig cooling her intel e7500 which is at 4.5ghz :)

but both will be good but the 20 pound one will be better.

Oh also, just took quick look in my missus bios (couldn't remember what it was set at ages since I made that system), its at 1.45v 4.5ghz is the e7500, and load temps around 55c in this room which is at 20c, and my old A50 kept my 2500k at 1.35v 5ghz easy at 65c. so the

Raijintek Themis Black Heatpipe CPU Cooler PWM

Which looks pretty much same design as my old A50 with the direct contact copper heat pipes etc and the shape of the fins and heat pipes, it should do the job well :)
