I want to buy a basic laptop. I've been looking that the Lenovo Ideapad 510 the basic i3 one.

Want 1080p IPS screen (the dell 5000 1080p screen is terrible) its decent on the Lenovo
At least 3 or 4 USB ports at least two have to be 3.0 and preferably on the left side.
Minimum i3
Gigbit Ethernet
Decent keyboard, backlit.
The trackpad on the Lenovo is ok, but the buttons are too stiff thats one draw back.
The other is the battery is smaller because of the DVD drive. Don't need the DVD.
If it can take two drives the better. SSD & regular HD.

Another other suggestions around the same price. 400~500 ish.

Compared with Lenovo, I think Toshiba is also a good choice. The laptop with the best ratio of quality to price is the Toshiba Chromebook 2.Its IPS Full HD display is excellent, its battery easily holds a charge for 6 to 8 hours, its light – 1.3 kg – weight makes it very easy to transport, and it it powerful enough to take notes in class and surf the web without any difficulty. The display on the Toshiba Chromebook 2 measures 13.3 inches, which makes it highly mobile while remaining large enough to be comfortable for working at. It offers very decent sound and its refined design makes it stylish.Whether it is for working, watching Youtube videos, or simply surfing the internet, the Toshiba Chromebook 2 display is great under all circumstances. Its IPS technology offers enormously wide viewing angles as well as very rich colors, and its Full HD provides a highly detailed image. http://cvc2.org/best-laptop-for-college-students/ You can go to this site to see.

Absolutely avoid Chromebooks unless you're buying for £100-200. Not worth the money in the slighest. Even playing most videos will be a pain in the neck, forget subtitles and so on in most cases.
